Rakuten Guide
In an AI content brief, steps to create a sales-driving "product page structure"
From keyword planning to competitor comparison, headline design, and the logical structure of the main text—we bring it all together into a single flow that covers what to delegate to AI and the points that people should make the final decision on.
1. Break down the “high-converting product page structure” into components
Product pages don’t always see better results just by increasing the amount of content. For Rakuten in particular, it’s important that users can quickly get the “reasons to buy” in a short amount of time.
Then, we break the product page down into the following components.
- Entrance: Title, a clear first view, and certain information on price, capacity, and size
- Convincing: features, spec rationale, usage scenarios, comparison points
- Peace of mind: Shipping, quality, guarantees, and answers to concerns about ingredients and manufacturing background, plus FAQs
- Key decision factors: Review summaries, frequently asked questions, and purchase pathways (related products and set recommendations)
Point
In AI briefs, when you standardize each part’s “role” and the “reasons you should write,” you eliminate the mass-production feel and increase the persuasive power on the sales floor.
2. Use a keyword design framework to translate it into headings
The strength of an AI content brief is the speed at which information can be organized. A useful tip is to treat keywords not as “individual words,” but as “search intent → the information you want → the role of the heading.”
(1)Divide search intent into three layers
- Comparison & Considerations: What’s the difference, and which should you choose?
- How to choose: how to tell size, intended use, ingredients, and quality apart
- Peace of mind: delivery, best-before dates, allergens, return conditions, and more
(2) Keyword design → Align the offer → Link the headline 1:1
For example, place “Reasons to hesitate about buying” at the center, and create headings in the following order.
- Search intent: The question the user wants to resolve
- Pitch: The conclusion your product delivers
- Heading: State the conclusion in the shortest way possible and without hedging
This reduces the number of lost readers in the main content and improves readability.
3. Create “differentiation points” first in your competitive analysis
Rakuten's winning strategy is not “coverage,” but clearly defining the reasons customers should choose it. Even when you have AI research the competition, decide the differentiation points upfront so the output doesn’t drift.
Differentiation Discussion Points Template (Items to Include Directly in the Brief)
- Advantages beyond price: raw materials, production methods, quality control, options, and more
- Match of purpose: Who will use it, in what situation, and how it will be used
- Experience Recreated: What happens after arrival, the taste, texture, and appearance, and how easy it is to use
- Proof You Can Trust: speed of answers in displays, third-party information, and FAQs
Set this point first, and then align the tone of the headings and the body text.
4. Revise AI-generated drafts into a winning strategy (editorial check)
AI-generated text from a brief tends to become “meaningful to everyone” if left as-is. So we’ll run an editing check to shape it into copy that fits a high-converting product page.
Edit Checklist
- Figures and evidence: Verify capacity, size, raw materials, processes, and more (replace vague wording with definitive statements)
- Comparison criteria: Remind yourself once per section what makes it different from the competition.
- Anticipating Uncertainty: Gather common questions before purchase as a FAQ and keep the answers short
- Readability: Keep the order of the opening summary → details → additional notes.
Procedure Summary (Brief Creation Flow)
- Assign the components on the product page (entry, conviction, reassurance, and deciding factor)
- Keyword design: break it down into a 3-layer structure by search intent
- Translate→Header to connect 1 to 1, and confirm the structure outline
- In competitor analysis, define differentiation points first, then assign the body copy to each point.
- Edit the figures and make final adjustments to ease concerns
5. Ready-to-use “keyword design” mini example
Finally, we show an example of how the brief can be translated into an on-page layout. Here, as a general example, we create headings based on search intent.
Headline options
By repeating this pattern, the distance from the AI brief to the product page structure shortens, and the number of revisions decreases.
